This was expected to be a short and sweet ride and that’s the best way to describe it. Most of it was near the beach and there was almost no traffic after the first 10kms. The last 20 was along quiet lanes or beach roads.
They were so quiet that I felt sorry for the ever present roadkill. Talk about unlucky.
Ban Krut is a really nice spot. It’s quiet but at least there are a few tourists around.
I couldn’t decide where to stay. I looked at one place and didn’t like it, so I had lunch and worked out what I’d do. Decided to live it up at a real resort for a change. Before I started this trip, I promised myself that I’d do this occasionally.
And what a good move. They have the best fruit smoothies ! In fact, I’m sitting by the pool right now having a second.
Tomorrow, I’ll head to Prauchap Khiri Khan and then on to Hua Hin, where there is an immigration office. I’ll go there on Monday and hopefully extend my stay another 30 days. I’m finalising a route north through Ayutthaya, Sukhothai, Mae Hong Son, and Chaing Mai assuming this is possible (and that I can drag myself up those hills). Plan B is hurry across to Cambodia which will still be a lot of fun.
