Breakfast was the same as dinner but there were eggs instead of soup and the bread was a day older. I’ve changed my mind about this place already. Not particularly organised and changing too dollar, and it’s cash only.
I’m surprised the bread was stale as there’s a bakery just a few hundred metres away. Oh well, it’s better than nothing.

Today was quite windy to start with, and it would stay that way for most of the day. It was mainly behind me and I can’t tell you how happy I am about that.
I left the place and went straight to the a forementioned bakery, but the little shop attached to it, would only take cash. I’d used my last Zlotys at the B&B. So the shopkeeper and I talked for a bit and when he found out I was from Australia, he wanted to give me the bread rolls and doughnuts for free. I eventually talked him into changing a 20 euro note and gave him a healthy rip. It worked well for both of us.

Then I started back on the Green velo route which was initially very sandy and open, then moved through a lush forest and all of a sudden it was cobbles, then single / walking track. The single track was a lot of fun.

That left me near the very nice hamlet of Galiny. The next section was one of those where the Green Velo route does three quarters of a circle while there is a fast but fairly quiet road instead. I chose the latter and had the wind behind me.

More farm roads followed before the village of Korsce. I thought, great, lunch time, but it was slim pickings AND there was no coffee to be had. I stopped by the local Leviatan supermarket and got some food for lunch.

Korsce looked like a railway town that had seen far better days. It seemed to be full of the unemployed, unemployable and the elderly and had some rusting old train infrastructure but was so so quiet.

The rest of the day was pretty uneventful as I made my way through the Polish farmlands. Lakes began appearing as I neared Węgorzewo and I turned off the path to camp beside one of the larger ones.

The campground was being upgraded with some nice new facilities almost complete. The existing area was great as well and I relaxed with a Czech beer looking over the lake. A very nice way to unwind.

Dinner was at the small onsite restaurant. Google translated an item on the menu as homemade casserole, but the reality was an open top, foot long sub. It was impossible to eat without a huge mess, but as I’ve said before, to a cyclist, food is a challenge.
