Yesterday was a momentous day for me. After blathering on about a big bike tour for years, I finally started Chapter one. All that talk about it is now immaterial.
I should have arranged for day 1 to be much easier though. Caught the train to Lithgow before getting underway very late at about 11:30. Today I learnt not to trust GPS routing apps, and that it’s very hilly but beautiful between Lithgow and Bathurst, AND that it’s so nice to ride around in the countryside with no cares or concerns.
However, by the time I made it to Bathurst, I was exhausted, sore and a babbling mess – but happy to get day one under my belt.
