Day 19 – Holbrook to Jingellic
This was the start of the ride with Dennis, Steve and Pete and the support vehicle (3 riding, 1 driving for 10km at a time) – Gee it’s a fantastic way to travel ! You get plenty of riding in each day, but there’s plenty of food and water in the 4WD along the way when needed.
The weather was surprisingly good through the countryside into Jingellic, where the Murray was high and really flowing fast at the campsite. This was a shortish day as we had some mechanical problems in Gundagai.
The guys are consumate professionals when it comes to the camping set up, eating and drinking routine. They’ve honed their skills over many years. The result was simply a great time.
Day 20 – Jingellic to Eskdale
This was a fairly long day, but lots of fun on quiet roads and a small section of rail trail. We had pinned our hopes on a beer on the verandah of Eskdale pub but it is closed on Mondays – aaaaggghhhh !
However, the campsite a few kms south of town was fantastic, as was the swim in the river, and the campfire that night.
