Ensay to Bruthen

Today’s ride on Komoot

I had another short ride today and had all of that nice produce to consume first.

Unfortunately, today was on the main road, but you’d never know. It was very quiet and beautiful beside the Tambo again. I really enjoyed it. It’s similar to the ride beside the Mita Mita.

Leaving Ensay

There was nothing startling along the way, just nice scenery on a fairly quiet road. There was plenty of up and down but it was only 50kms and was over with by lunch when I arrived in Bruthen.

Spot the Wallaby

Bruthen is on the rail trail, so there was a cafe full of geriatric cyclists to greet me on arrival. They all looked at my gear and said “ooh, you must be going a long way” … Not really, I’m just going an interesting way not a boring way 😁

Tambo views

I’m always amazed that people can ride in long pants, jackets and hi viz and not be uncomfortably warm. It happens all over the world and is the domain of retiree cyclists. They may look stupid, but they’re a friendly bunch. I was invited to join a cycling group on the south coast on my way home.

This looked like wattle but shouldn’t be flowering now

I went to a park bench and ate my lunch then made my way to the showgrounds to camp. The clouds rolled in and the drizzle began, so I crawled into the tent and had a nap then read a book.

The local pub had a great menu, so I strolled over the bridge and had a great meal before another sound sleep. Sometimes, I can sleep anywhere, anytime.

Tomorrow promised to be interesting.
