I got going early and planned a breakfast/coffee stop at around 7kms. All done and back on the road by 7:30am.
Again it was fairly clear this morning and 30 degrees at 7:30 – according to my GPS. It certainly felt like it. The road was consistent – mainly little undulations that sapped my energy early in the day.
At about 10am I was thinking that it was going to be a very hard day, but then there was intermittent cloud cover for the rest of the day which cooled things down enormously.
I stopped in a small town for some delicious red roasted pork with rice. So nice.
The remainder of today’s 86kms went by without incident and I stopped at the isolated Naphon Resort (That again, is the rural Thai meaning of resort). The nice lady who runs it said she would cook dinner for me – due to the isolation, and decided I needed another lunch as well. I certainly did.
The fried rice was topped with about 6 scrumptious looking prawns which I’m unfortunately allergic to. I removed them and ate the rest but could definitely feel the allergic reaction within a few minutes. Lots of water and an anti-histamine did the trick.
In the afternoon, I went for a ride and got some goodies for after dinner. My appetite is getting better and better. I really hope my fitness can keep pace.
