Kuala Lumpur to Kuala Selangor

Leaving KL was surprisingly easy and smooth, except for about 2kms of freeway and flyovers that I couldn’t avoid. That was the only time I was on the freeway, as here they have two motorbike lanes segregated from the freeway. I had so many conversations with the motos and even got high fives from food delivery guys.

Leaving KL

I then noticed, I’d lost one glove to add to the broken front light bracket, the lost pannier strap and my broken glasses. KL wasn’t good for equipment !

So, what to do with one glove ? I wear them for sun protection mainly, and I didn’t expect to see any bike shops today, but hey presto about 300m down the road, I see a big Decathlon store. Perfect. I stopped and waited 10 minutes for them to open and it rained for the full 10 minutes. When I emerged with new gloves, the rain stopped and play resumed …

The conversations with bikers continued almost to Kuala Selangor. This place is super friendly.

Well clear of the city now and into the pine plantations

My hotel was just north of the town, right beside an area of restaurants. This area had a much greater Chinese influence than I’d seen before in Malaysia and so there were immediately more food options, and locals were drinking beer, which I hadn’t seen outside of KL and Tioman.

The stomach is doing fine !
Impressive inexpensive hotel
