I loaded up with food for 2 days and arranged to pick up water at Policeman Point before heading out of Meningie.
I was looking for a place to stop for lunch and thought I saw a mirage – a sign for a food van. Coffee and a Toastie followed – unexpected yum. That fuelled me for a nice 15kms along the quiet dirt road beside the Coorong before getting back on the highway and then out to the campground.
I met a wonderful family who were on a 5 month caravan trip with 3 kids. So generous and sociable, I’m sure they’ll have a fantastic time.
The wind built up during the night and I couldn’t wait to take advantage of it on the morning.
