Rain enforced rest day in Song Cau

This morning, I woke to thunderstorms and torrential rain, and it didn’t let up until lunchtime by which time I’d decided to stay here another night.

That meant eating and relaxing all day. I watched a few movies, ate four meals and had three coffees, as well as my first coconut smoothie – yum.

I also realised that I’ve only got another week left here in Vietnam. I thought I had six days more than that, as the exit date is handwritten (quite badly) in my passport. I finally found the actual printed visa and 20 November is my last day here.

not after realising I only have a week left here

That means that I’ll need to get a train to Ho Chi Minh City, possibly from Tuy Hoa which is about 50-60kms away from here. That gives me a day of travel, lets me look around HCM for a couple of days and then ride out of there to Cambodia – with a day or two up my sleeve in case there’s any issues along the way.
