Rest / Eating day in Sam Roi Yot

It went like this.

6am alarm. Where am I ? Oh yeah, I’m not riding today. Sleep for another hour.

Wake up, look at the beach, decide not to swim because it’s a really low tide. Grab some toast and instant coffee at the hotel. Sleep for an hour.

Wake up feeling like I should be doing something useful. Decide to eat. That’s always useful. Go up the road for breakfast. Side note – it was sensational. I haven’t had bacon in at least 2 months, refused it, but they insisted. Oh my ….

Go back to hotel and sleep for an hour.

Wake up and wonder if it’s too early for lunch. Decide that if I ride to the lunch spot, then it’s not overeating. Go and eat lunch. Get some snacks on the way back.

It’s time for a rest, but first, eat the snacks.

Get up and change some things on the bike, clean the belt drive and apply some soap. Should be super smooth tomorrow.

Go for a swim. While swimming. Notice that the light is beautiful. Go and get the phone, wade out 30 metres and take some photos. Drop the phone in the water. Nah, just kidding.

Talk with the lady who runs the place for an hour. (I showed her the biking blog site where I read about this place. Then I did a search and discovered many other cyclists have stayed here and blogged about it. We looked through a few, and saw photos of her and her daughter from 5 years ago. So funny – she had no idea)

I’m feeling peckish. Have a pre-dinner banana smoothie.

Go to dinner up the road. Forget to buy snacks on the way back. Dammit ! I don’t want to go hungry tonight.

Type up blog post and remember that I put a soft drink in the fridge. Sugar hit completed.

Start thinking about breakfast …
