RMK Kellissaare to RMK Aegviidu

I was slow to leave the campground today. It was such a nice place. However, I knew I had quite a few kms to get done today, on my way to Tallinn the next day.

Again, there was a fair bit of main road riding as well as plenty of quiet roads with the last 10 kms through a forest.

It was a Sunday, so again, it was a low energy day on the roads. I.e. hardly any trucks.

I guess it was a nothing sort of day, as I took very few photos and didnt see anything extraordinary. I made breakfast at the campground, had second breakfast at a petrol station and lunch was at a bench off the road, after finding a supermarket.

That all changed as I neared the campground. The last part was on a beautiful dirt road through a lush forest. There were a few hikers and even one guy on an electric scooter – an off-road version ?

The campground was nice but full of biting insects (with a few not-very-sober Estonians) and I was feeling lazy, so I located a cafe attached to a hotel a few kms away and went there hoping for some dinner.

It was a great move. The home style cooling – roast pork – was fantastic. I charged my phone and updated the blog, then the waitress brought a dessert (on the house). It was nice too – baked peaches with custard and blueberries. I’m sure I worked off those calories the next day 😁 So, with a full belly, I headed back to camp.

I’d noticed a sandy beach by the lake just near the campsite, so I went back there for an end-of-day swim and wash. With the long evenings here, it was really nice.

Then it was back to camp where I sat outside the tent for a while. I realised that i was simply becoming mosquito bait and went to bed.

The day ended well, and I was now easily within a days ride of the capital, Tallinn.
