Back to Tourist Central – Thanh Hoa to Ninh Binh

Today’s ride on Komoot

As far as exciting rides go, this was an  unexciting day. The morning was ok, but in the afternoon, we were on some busy roads which I really didn’t enjoy.

We had some fun sections through villages though. Often Komoot directed us through back alleys and lanes which was a change from the last few days. We were never far from the main road though and eventually we were forced to use it. I hated it. Give me a bumpy quiet road anyway.

Rice paddies everywhere
Bikers everywhere
Tourists everywhere

We turned off the busy roads in Tam Hoa, so the last ten kilometres were somewhat relaxed as we cycled past factories that produces all sorts of marble and stone objects. As we got closer, the unmistakable signs of western tourism became apparent – English menus, mango smoothies, motorbikes for hire …

We’re staying at Rosa Garden And it’s very nice and extremely laid back.

Rest day in Ninh Binh

We hired motorbikes as neither of us could be bothered riding 40kms on a day off. We visited galaxy Cave which was nice and then ride past the tourist area. It was beautiful and understandably crawling with tourists.

Karst scenery everywhere

The plan is to get to Hanoi in two easy days and spend 4 nights there.
