Downhill into town – Wild Camp to Jalalabad / Manas

Today’s ride on Komoot

Breakfast was again leisurely but we were on the road by 9am and looking forward to a long gradual downhill with two sharp climbs.

The area was getting more populated and it felt quite strange to be out of the countryside. We stopped for some water and supplies, and had second breakfast but we’re soon underway again.

Nothing much to report for the rest of the day. I went to a hotel of choice in town but decided to go elsewhere, so we had lunch and I booked the Hotel Goodnight (great move).

Emmanuel was heading over the Uzbek border today, so we said goodbye as I was approaching my hotel. Great to have some company.

I’m staying here for two nights. As it turns out, the nice people from the guesthouse in Jangy-Talap found my shirt, charger and cables and just happened to be visiting people near Jalalabad / Manas tomorrow. So nice of them to drop them off to me. It saves a lot of running around in Osh.

The owner and her 8 month old

I had a rest day here and the hotel and it’s courtyard are great. I spoke at length to the owner – again lovely people in this country.

I didn’t venture far. There’s restaurants, a supermarket and a lovely little cafe nearby – what more could a tired cyclist want ?

Nice coffee shops pop up in surprising places
